Feeds

News and Affiliate Datafeeds included using a Wordpress plugin

All the following examples use the free MultiFeedSnap Wordpress Plugin

Putting in the code into posts or pages within Wordpress fo the FeedSnap plugin is extremely easy.

You just need to find the URL of the RSS Feed you want to include and embed this inside the FeedSnap special code labels and then insert the simple single line of code into your page or post.

For example this is the code you would need to create the Digg RSS Feed in your blog content:

Yes, it's that easy!

Of course the Feedsnap plugin must already be installed and activated for your site before this will work.

Amazon Affiliate ID

For the Amazon Electronics Best Sellers feed (or any other best sellers feed) you must first sign up as an Amazon Associate to become one of their affiliates, so that you can get your amazon affiliate id embedded into the product links in RSS feeds.

Go to the Amazon Product RSS Feeds Page to see the list of Best Seller Categories with feeds.

(Note: You can sign up as an Amazon Associate from that page too!)

Then all you have to do is to just find the RSS feed for your Category and use the URL of the feed for that page in FeedSnap.

Feed URLs are easy to find - just look for the RSS symbol on the page (Normally you will find the icon in the top menu bar in Internet Explorer or in the URL box in the FireFox browser) and click on it, as that will then display the feed in your browser and the Feed URL will then be in your browsers URL address box.

Finally copy and paste the feed URL from the URL box to the inside of the FeedSnap labels code as shown above.

Just click on the relevant link below to go the page to see the feed results:

Yahoo Live News Feed

Amazon Electronics Live Best Sellers Feed

Digg Social Bookmarking Live Feed

Note that these are the feeds that worked with the plugin, but some other feeds such as Google News did not work at all. Some Blog RSS feeds worked and some did not, some just displayed titles and some displayed title and content. Also sometimes a feed would work and sometimes the same feed did not. Seems like Colin needs to some work on his plugin before it works for everyone. As it is free you may want to use it, so bear in mind that there is no guarantee it will work with the feed you need. So just try it to see. Good luck!
